2 For $199 – Combining Services

At Step into Health, we understand that some conditions are best treated with a team approach. This package allows you to purchase 2 initial consultations with 2 separate practitioners at a reduced price. We are all about collaboration here and this is an excellent way to benefit from the combined knowledge and skills of two of our clinicians. For example, why not combine the healing power of acupuncture needles with massage for an ongoing niggle or injury? This package presents savings of up to $60 depending on the combination.

To summarize – you get 2 appointments (any combination of nutrition / natural medicine / acupuncture / massage / kinesiology) for $199.

We have found that combining modalities for the following conditions is particularly effective:

For hormonal conditions – Any combination of Acupuncture, Kinesiology and Nutritional Medicine (including PCOS, endometriosis, PMS, infertility, irregular periods and painful periods)

We recommend booking acupuncture and nutritional medicine. In Chinese medicine, hormones are considered part of the ‘life force’ or essence of a person. Acupuncture focuses on rebalancing the essence including the ‘yin’ and ‘yang’ to restore hormonal balance. It especially assists with pain management and reducing stress levels, which have a huge impact on hormones. In clinical research, acupuncture has been shown to be effective for infertility as well as male and female hormonal conditions.

Hormones are made from nutrients. Proteins and cholesterol are the building blocks and micronutrients including zinc, iron and B vitamins are required for making hormones too. If these nutrients are lacking then hormone balancing and adequate hormone production is impossible. In addition, eating foods that are ‘inflammatory’ will contribute to period pain and can exacerbate inflammatory hormone conditions like endometriosis. As far as PCOS is concerned, dietary consideration is critical because of the connection between insulin resistance and PCOS. Read more about that here: http://www.thebalancednutritionist.com.au/hormones/pcos-and-diet/

Elizabeth, our kinesiologist has had her own journey with fertility and hormonal balance. In fact, Elizabeth’s own journey with fertility led her to kinesiology and then led her to study the modality.

Hormones and fertility are such an intricate and important area that it makes sense a combined approach and combined knowledge may be most beneficial. Choose the combination you feel will benefit you the most.

For Digestive Conditions (including Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, IBS, diarrhoea, constipation and reflux)

We recommend combining acupuncture and nutritional medicine. Looking at the diet is critical to identify any food intolerances. We can also work with specific nutrients that reduce inflammation in the gut to alleviate cramping and pain. Assessing the gut flora is critical to strengthen the immune system long term and regulate bowel motions. For chronic digestive conditions, we are able to utilise testing like comprehensive stool analyses which give us a complete detailed picture of what’s happening in the gut.

Acupuncture can regulate stomach acidity which greatly assists with reflux and digestive capacity in general. There is also a strong correlation between digestive conditions and stress/anxiety. Acupuncture is very effective at reducing stress levels and assisting with overall mental wellbeing.

Digestive conditions can be mentally and physically debilitating. Sadly, many clients we see here at Step into Health are not getting sound advice on this topic and are living with these symptoms for many years. Book an appointment with us and you honestly will be back to ‘living life’ to the full once again.

Sports Performance and Injury Management – any combination of acupuncture, massage and nutrition.

If you are nursing a niggle and you want to get back on the field or track soon then we suggest combining acupuncture and massage. If you have no idea how to eat like and athlete and fuel your body then you may need a combination that includes nutrition.

Acupuncture addresses the inflammation and tension associated with muscular pain and injury. The modality is extremely effective for pain relief and relaxing the muscles and tendons. Acupuncture also assists to speed up the healing process by encouraging blood flow to the injured area. The result; you’ll be back out there in no time!

Massage! What athlete can’t benefit from regular massage! We offer both deep tissue and relaxation. With Zee, our massage therapist, being quite the athlete himself, including massage into your combination is a great idea no matter what your sport may be.

If you want to achieve longevity as an athlete, you also need to consider your nutrition. The right food can enhance performance and also decrease your chances of injury. Yes you did read that correctly! A low inflammatory diet and adequate amounts of the right nutrients (omega 3, magnesium etc.) will assist with injury management as well as long term immunity, which is often compromised in athletes. Katie has a particular interest in working with endurance athletes; she runs marathons and trail events herself.

There are plenty of other conditions that may benefit from our combined knowledge; just give us a call to discuss.
